On the 7th July 2012 the Olympic Torch Relay was passing through Chelmsford, Essex. We went to the event, and met our friends there. We were in prime position to see the torch be handed over to the next bearer. The torch bearer shown above is Martin, we managed to get our photo taken before he started his part of the relay.
BBC Essex was broadcasting the event LIVE from Oaklands Park, Giving away flags and complimentary photos (Shown on left) We had the commentary streaming until it reached the park, so we had strong knowledge of the location of the flame!
The Official BBC broadcasting bus was parked up in the park building up the atmosphere for all the visitors, and believe me there was a lot, considering it was at 6:30 in the morning!
